Agentic AI

Agentics, or more specifically agentic AI, refers to an advanced type of artificial intelligence that operates autonomously to set goals, make decisions, and execute tasks with minimal human intervention. Unlike traditional AI, which typically responds to commands or performs data analysis, agentic AI can plan multi-step processes, adapt to new information, and independently accomplish complex workflows.

Agentic AI systems consist of multiple AI agents that collaborate and coordinate to achieve higher-level objectives. These agents use various AI techniques such as natural language processing, machine learning, and reinforcement learning to continually learn and improve their decision-making. The systems are proactive, adaptable, collaborative, and specialized, enabling them to operate much like autonomous employees or service agents in dynamic environments.

Applications of agentic AI range from automating customer service and optimizing business processes to managing logistics and workforce scheduling. It represents a shift from reactive, rule-based AI to intelligent, goal-directed systems capable of self-directed action and continuous learning.

In essence, agentic AI is the brainpower behind autonomous AI agents that act independently within complex systems to deliver sophisticated and adaptive solutions without constant human guidance.
